This policy explains how I handle personal information collected through this website and through bookings made on it. It is written to meet my obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Clinical records are not covered by this policy. Where I provide care, the record of that care is held separately and is subject to the professional obligations that apply to it. This website does not ask clinical questions, and no health information is collected through it.
Personal information is used to provide the service booked, to confirm and send reminders about appointments, to process payments and refunds in accordance with the cancellation policy, and to respond to enquiries.
It is not sold, and it is not used for marketing. Booking does not add you to a mailing list.
Personal information is disclosed to the service providers used to operate this website and its bookings, covering website hosting, data storage, email delivery and payment processing. These providers act on my instructions and are permitted to use the information only to provide those services.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.
Personal information is not otherwise disclosed to third parties except with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.
Information is held in access-controlled systems and is retained only for as long as it is needed.
Records relating to payments are retained for five years, as required by Australian taxation law. Waitlist entries are retained until you ask for their removal or the relevant class has passed. Enquiries that do not result in a booking are retained for twelve months.
This website does not set cookies on your visit and does not use analytics or tracking of any kind.
You may request access to the personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Requests can be made by email to ilanamerrick@gmail.com and are ordinarily answered within 30 days. Information I am required by law to retain cannot be deleted on request.
If you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled, please raise it with me at the address above so that it can be resolved directly. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
