Birth prep that doesn’t assume what kind of birth you’re having.

Taught by a registered midwife

Whether you’re planning to birth in hospital or at home, medicated or unmedicated, or you simply don’t know yet, this is for you. We each come into birth as individuals, with our own bodies, our own vulnerabilities, and our own minds, and this class meets you where you are.

Book your class

$799 couple • $399 individual

What the class covers

Understanding your body

Your pelvis and anatomy. How labour actually progresses and what can cause delays. Where your baby sits and why position matters.

Practical birth skills

Positions and movement. Breathing that helps. Comfort options, non-pharmacological and pharmacological. What to do when the plan changes.

Emotional preparation

Fear, anxiety, and previous birth trauma. Making decisions under pressure. What your support person can actually do.

Preparing for after

The first days at home. Your own recovery and how to maximise it. What’s normal, and when to ask for help.

The venue

Studio Take Care, Brunswick.

1 Pitt Street, Brunswick. A large, light-filled space with plenty of room to move around and practise techniques.

  • The main room at Studio Take Care: polished timber floors under a wall of full-height mirrors, a deep red curtain drawn across the wall beside them, a potted palm by the door and round pendant lights overhead.
  • The same room from the window side: a row of tall windows with low benches beneath them, a structural pillar mid-floor and an open door at one end.
  • The entry at Studio Take Care: a bench under a run of windows strung with fairy lights, a potted palm in the corner, and an open door through to a bright room beyond.
